What’s up?

I’ve been asked to write a series of pieces on what’s up in the night sky.

As I suggested late last year, I think I’ve said all I need to say on gender issues. I’ll never say never, though, if someone asks for new commentary or explanation.

On a rather different subject, however, I’ve been asked to write a series of pieces on what’s up in the night sky. I will not be getting into scientific details, nor will I write about anything that needs a telescope or dark skies. Instead, I will cover what you might see on the walk home from the pub, or when you go out into the back garden and the neighbour’s security light comes on.

As before, I will republish my work here after a short delay so I wanted to let my subscribers know before any pieces appear. It’s still me; I will just be writing about something different. Back in the 1980s, my first foray into journalism was a regular astronomy column in my local newspaper. I used to deliver my handwritten copy to the newspaper office on my way home from school. It feels good to be picking this topic up again, half a lifetime later.

Im currently in Almeria,Spain. Some clear nights you can just sit and stare at the sky and its amazing what you can see, light pollution is the biggest problem.

Nice to hear from you again, Debbie.

Your presence in the debate is still needed. Here in the U.S., almost all professional organizations, social organizations, and liberal politicians are captured by transgender ideology. It is going to take years for a rational balance to be found on this issue, one in which trans people feel mostly free, but are cautious not to push their way into spaces where they don’t belong. And certainly, they need to stop telling children that they can choose their gender, which isn’t true.

Thank you Caleb,

My work is still here. Indeed, I recently rearranged the front page of my website to highlight what I think are the three key pieces that I have written, and I will keep going back to them.
• My ideas about perception, and why neither side can win the ongoing debate but neither side can lose it. All it is doing is expending energy that could be used productively elsewhere. When both sides have exhausted themselves, transwomen will still be men, but men perceived to be women. The trouble is that many people will be hurt in the process.
• The inconvenient truth about transwomen. What I think is really going on, and it isn’t an expression of gender identity.
My autogynephilia story.

Please feel free to share those pieces and refer people back to me for further explanation. My blog is open access.
